Florida-bred Comedy Town Upsets Smile Sprint

Ten Twenty Racing and Saffie Joseph Jr.'s Comedy Town raced four-wide coming out of the far turn then went past stablemate Sibelius at the eighth pole to upset the $110,000 Smile Sprint at odds of 11-1 at Gulfstream Park Saturday.

Florida-bred Stat Makes Stakes Debut as 5-2 Favorite at Age 5 in Soldier's Dancer

C2 Racing Stable LLC's Stat will make his first start against added-money company as a 5-year-old Sunday when the Florida-bred gelding goes in the $80,000 Soldier's Dancer at Gulfstream Park. Despite having to wait until his 23rd career race to take on stakes company, the Saffie Joseph Jr.

Alopacas Run With Dean Delivers Rescheduled for Monday

Racing officials at Delaware Park cancelled racing at Willimington, Del., track Saturday due to weather and have rescheduled those races for Monday. Included on the Saturday card was the $125,000 Alopacas Run with Florida-bred Dean Delivers set as the second choice on the morning line at 4-1.

Trainer George Weaver is approaching a personal milestone of 1,000 Thoroughbred career wins in North America (US and Canada). Through racing Saturday July 6, Weaver was at 995 wins. Sunday, he has two horses entered at Belmont At The Big A and one horse entered at Monmouth Park.
