Shaq Diesel Among High Weights in Wildcat Red Overnight Handicap

Florida-bred Shaq Diesel is one of three contenders assigned to carry the top weight of 120 pounds for Saturday’s $75,000 Wildcat Red Overnight Handicap at Gulfstream Park along with 2-1 morning line favorite Black Belt and the Saffie Joseph Jr.-trained Lord Miles. Shaq Diesel is the 5-2 second choice in the program among the eight 3-year-olds and older entered in the one-mile contest.

D'Angelo Says Gabaldon Plans to Stay on the Turf

Trainer Jose D'Angelo said from his barn in South Florida Friday that Florida-bred Gabaldon came out of his second-place finish in the US$139,000 Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot in good order and is currently in transit back to his base in South Florida.

Eclipse Awards Return to Palm Beach

LEXINGTON, KY—The National Thoroughbred Racing Association, Daily Racing Form and the National Turf Writers and Broadcasters announced that the 54th Annual Eclipse Awards will return to the Breakers Palm Beach in Florida, to honor Thoroughbred racing’s human and equine champions of 2024, on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025.

HISA to Host Town Hall on Racetrack Safety Rule Updates on July 8
