FMQ Stables' Grade 1 winner Saudi Crown is set to face an accomplished field of eight horses that entered next Sunday's 72nd running of the $300,000 Hanshin presented by JRA (Listed), one of five stakes contests on closing day of the 43-day Spring Meet at Churchill Downs.

Florida-bred Flood Zone Tops Ultra-Competitive Maxfield Stakes

Wathnan Racing's Gotham Stakes (Grade 3) winner Flood Zone headlines an ultra-competitive field of 13 3-year-olds that entered Sunday's fourth running of the $250,000 Maxfield Stakes (Listed) at Churchill Downs.

Florida-bred Old Chestnut Seeks Breakthrough in Grade 2 Highlander Stakes

The Florida-bred Old Chestnut will attempt to add another graded stakes victory to his resume in Saturday's $200,000 bet365 Highlander Stakes (Grade 2) at Woodbine. The 8-year-old son of Speightstown enters the six-furlong turf contest at 15/1 on the morning line, coming off a triumphant performance in the Jacques Cartier Stakes (Grade 3) on May 31.

Florida-bred Crystal Quest in Prince George's County Stakes at Laurel Park

Crystal Quest, a Florida-bred 4-year-old colt, will compete in Saturday's $125,000 Prince George's County Stakes at Laurel Park. The 3-year-olds and up race is scheduled for 4:36 p.m. EDT and covers one and one-eighth miles on turf.

Florida-bred Bargain Quizler Takes on Tale of the Cat Turfers at Monmouth for Malouf

A $15,000 purchase at the 2024 Ocala Breeders' Sales Company June sale will test his mettle against nine 3-year-old emerging turfers (plus one entered main track only) when Florida-bred Quizler lines up for Saturday's $100,000 Tale of the Cat Stakes at Monmouth Park.

FTBOA Board of Directors Election Notice

The timeline for the 2025 FTBOA Board of Directors election was finalized at the Board meeting held on May 23, 2025. The Board will nominate at least one candidate for each of the available Director positions.


In addition, applications for self-nominated candidates seeking to qualify by petition are available upon request beginning Thurs., June 26, 2025 by calling 352-629-2160 or stopping by the FTBOA offices at 801 SW 60th Avenue, Ocala, FL 34474, between the hours of 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m., weekdays (closed noon to 1 p.m.).


The application, a biography, and the required original petition form signed by at least 25 Regular Members in good standing from Thursday, June 26, 2025 to Friday, July 25, 2025 must be received by the FTBOA no later than July 25, 2025 at 4:30 p.m.


Voting packets will be mailed/emailed to FTBOA members eligible to vote on Wed., Sept. 24, 2025, and voting will close upon the FTBOA Annual Meeting being called to order on Oct. 24, 2025.
