Prevent Leads Florida-bred Trio Into Not Surprising

BC Racing LLC’s Prevent, who has been close to producing a stakes victory on the turf in three previous tries, makes another attempt Saturday at Gulfstream Park in the $75,000 Not Surprising. A field of eight 3-year-olds will go a mile-and-a-sixteenth on the grass and Prevent joins Echo Lane and Secret Lover in running for an additional $20,000 Top 3 bonus for Florida-breds presented by the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders’ and Owners’ Association.

Florida-bred Rogueish Colt Works Fastest Three Furlongs

Florida-bred fillies by Bucchero and The Big Beast were two of the fastest juveniles to work an eighth mile Friday while a Florida-bred filly by Ocala Stud’s first crop sire Win Win Win produced one of two bullet quarter-mile works. It was the fourth day of under tack works previewing the Ocala Breeders’ Sales June Sale of Two-Year-Olds in Training and Horses of Racing Age.

Florida-breds Take Two Saratoga Allowance Races Friday

Arthur's Ride Romps by 12 ½ Lengths

Glassman Racing’s Arthur’s Ride ran away from his eight rivals at Saratoga Friday afternoon as the Florida-bred colt won a second condition, $62,500 optional claiming for 3-year-olds by 12 ¾ quarters lengths. Ridden by Junior Alvarado for trainer Bill Mott, Arthur’s ride covered a mile-and-a-quarter in 2:00.99
