Bolt d'Oro Filly Tops First Day of OBS October Yearling Sale

A filly by Bolt d'Oro sold for $135,000 to de Meric Sales to lead the way during the first day of the Ocala Breeders' Sales October Yearling Sale. Consigned as Hip 353 by Richard Kent's Kaizen Sales as agent, the bay filly is by Bolt d'Oro out of Final Reward, by Arch.

Brook Ledge Wins Florida Thoroughbred PAC Golf Tournament

Florida Thoroughbred PAC held its first golf tournament on Friday, Oct. 6 at Stone Creek Golf Club in Ocala in support of the Florida Thoroughbred industry. The event kicked off one of many fundraising events that will continue through 2024.

1984 - Smile wins the $260,000 Florida Stallion Stakes In Reality by two lengths at Calder Race Course to sweep the male divisions of the Florida Stallion Stakes.


1999 - Beautiful Pleasure wins the Grade 1 Beldame by four-and-three-quarter lengths with jockey Jorge Chavez at Belmont Park. It was her second consecutive Grade 1 victory after winning the Personal Ensign Handicap on Aug. 27.
