Florida-bred Mystic Lake steps into stakes company for the first time Sunday when the Florida-bred filly makes her third career start in the CA$125,000 Glorious Song for 2-year-olds fillies at seven furlongs on the synthetic main track at Woodbine.

1974 - Future Hall of Famer Desert Vixen wins the Grade 1 Matchmaker at Atlantic City Race Course for her ninth consecutive victory.


By In Reality out of the Moslem chief mare Desert Trail, Desert Vixen was bred in Florida by Mrs. Muriel Vanderbilt Adams and earned the 1974 Eclipse Award as the champion older mare.


Trained by Thomas F. Root for Harry T. Mangurian, Jr., Desert Vixen was also the 1973 champion filly.
