Florida-bred All That Magic Resumes Winning Ways in Keeneland Allowance

After having a four-race win streak snapped when ninth in Grade 3 Turf Monster at Parx Racing last out on Sept. 23, Florida-bred All that Magic returned to the winner's circle after a strong effort in a $110,146 allowance race on the Keeneland turf Sunday.

Pacific Princess Wins Third Straight Sunday at Gulfstream

Florida-bred Pacific Princess, a homebred for trainer Roger Laurin, made a late run to narrowly win a $25,000 optional claiming at Gulfstream Park Sunday and earn her third consecutive victory.

This Day in Florida Thoroughbred History

October 22


1988 - Florida-bred Cutlass Reality and jockey Gary Stevens won the Grade 3 Goodwood Handicap by a length-and-three-quarters ahead of Lively One in second during the Oak Tree at Santa Anita meet.


Cutlass Reality was trained Craig Lewis for owners Crash and Hankoff and won five consecutive races in 1988, starting with an allowance race at Hollywood Park in May. The streak included victories in the Grade 1 Californian and Grade 1 Hollywood Gold Cup, both at Hollywood Park, and ended when he finished second as the 3-10 favorite in the Grade 2 Budweiser-Hawthorne Gold Cup won by Cryptoclearance on Aug. 27 - just prior to the Goodwood.


Cutlass Reality was by Cutlass out of the In Reality mare Landera and was bred in Florida by Jaime S. Carrion. He retired with 14 wins in 66 starts with 12 seconds and nine thirds and earnings of $1,405,660.
