FTBOA Announces Significant Increases in Florida Breeder and Stallion Awards for 2024 Thanks to Recently Passed Legislation

OCALA, FL-The Florida Thoroughbred Breeders' and Owners' Association announced today a substantial increase in awards paid to Florida breeders and stallion owners for 2024 through their Annual Awards Plan that was approved Thursday by the Florida Gaming Control Commission.

Florida-bred Sister Otoole, who has criss-crossed the country for her last five starts, has returned to the East Coast for Saturday's Grade 3 Fasig-Tipton Waya to face seven other fillies and mares at a mile-and-three-eighths on the Aqueduct turf.

Tim Ahearn Obituary

Florida horseman and longtime Williston area resident Tim Ahearn lost his five-year battle with cancer on March 14, 2023. Mr. Ahearn, along with his wife and son, worked their 40-acre Rebah Farm in northwest Marion county for nearly four decades. He was the breeder of many talented racehorses including Florida-bred champion Scratch Pad.
