Large Tom Ridge Field Includes Florida-breds Buccherino and Adios Now

Florida-breds Buccherino and Adios Now are among a dozen 3-year-olds set to go six furlongs on the synthetic main track at Presque Isle Downs in the $80,000 Tom Ridge Monday with both exiting solid efforts in stakes.

Racing Resumes Sunday at Gulfstream Park

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL - Gulfstream Park will resume live racing Sunday, June 16 with a 10-race program and estimated 20¢ Rainbow 6 pool of $525,000. First race post is 12:55 p.m. EDT. Gulfstream cancelled live racing Thursday through Saturday due to record rainfall that saturated the South Florida area.

Strangles Confirmed in Lake County

According to the Equine Disease Communication Center and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, a private facility in Lake County in Florida is under official quarantine as of June 14 due a horse testing positive for strangles. Only the animals under quarantine have additional travel restrictions.

Milestone


Trainer George Weaver is approaching a personal milestone of 1,000 Thoroughbred career wins in North America (US and Canada). Through racing Saturday June 15, Weaver was at 991 wins. He has two horse entered at Belmont at the Big A and one at Laurel Park on Sunday.
