Florida-bred Beauty of the Sea Overcomes Difficult Trip to Win Goldwood

Checked while racing down the backstretch then lacking room at the top of the stretch, Florida-bred Beauty of the Sea found room on the rail to win the $100,000 Goldwood by a length-and-a-quarter at Monmouth Park Saturday.

Crystal Quest Takes Solid Record into Tale of the Cat

Dr. Cornelius “Sonny” Link Passes


Dr. Cornelius “Sonny” Link, of Reddick, Fla., a longtime Thoroughbred breeder and owner, passed away Sunday, June 22. He was 93. A dentist in the Ocala area for more than 55 years, Dr. Link was currently campaigning Clay Soldier, a 4-year-old daughter of Bucchero who has earned $101,560 from two wins in 14 starts.


Link is survived by his daughter Stephanie Link and her partner Santiago Mendoza. Services to celebrate the life of Dr. Link will be held at the Countryside Funeral Home in Anthony, Fla., at a date to be announced.

Proficient Florida-bred Fillies and Mares Face Off in My Pal Chrisy Overnight Handicap

Trainer George Weaver is approaching a personal milestone of 1,000 Thoroughbred career wins in North America (US and Canada). Through racing Friday June 21, Weaver was at 991 wins. He has one horse entered at Woodbine on Saturday.
