Florida-bred Most Handsome Puts in Dashing Performance to Win Roar

Most Handsome bounced out the starting gate on top and led from flag to finish to score in the $75,000 Roar at Gulfstream Park Saturday. The Florida-bred son of Pleasant Acres Stallions' Neolithic won for the second time in two starts, both times sprinting five furlongs on the turf with Emisael Jaramillo aboard.

Second in two stakes in her last two efforts, Augustin Stables' As Catch Can is the 2-1 second choice to end that trend in Sunday's Grade 3 Honeymoon at Santa Anita.

This Day in Florida Thoroughbred History - Codex Survives Claim of Foul to Win Preakness ahead of Kentucky Derby-winning filly Genuine Risk

MAY 17, 1980-In one of the more controversial races in Triple Crown history, Florida-bred Codex and jockey Angel Cordero, Jr. survived a claim of foul lodged by jockey Jacinto Vasquez, who was riding the Kentucky Derby-winning filly Genuine Risk, to win the 105th running of the $250,600 Preakness Stakes (Grade 1) at Pimlico Race Course.
