Florida-bred Beth's Dream Looks to Extend Win Streak in Sheer Drama Stakes

Virginia Gamble’s Beth’s Dream will attempt to win her fourth straight race Saturday at Gulfstream Park when the Florida-bred mare goes postward in the $100,000 Sheer Drama Handicap for fillies and mares at seven furlongs. Assigned the co-top weight of 125 pounds along with Florida-bred Bluefield, Beth’s Dream will give up to eight pounds to her seven rivals.

Mensa Favored to Win Second Stakes in Soaring Free

Mensa has been tabbed as the 2-1 favorite for Saturday’s CA$150,000 bet365 Soaring Free at Woodbine as the Florida-bred colt looks for his second consecutive added-money victory in his first attempt on turf. Trained by Mark Casse for Resolute Racing, Mensa will be among nine 2-year-olds who will go six-and-a-half furlongs on the grass.

Public Notice – Hybrid FTBOA Board of Directors Meeting on August 23, 2024

A meeting of the FTBOA Board of Directors will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024.

The portion of the meeting dealing with the following agenda item will be open in order for members of the public to provide comments and/or observe the Board’s proceedings, with this open portion of the meeting commencing at 1:10 PM:


Proposed 2025 Annual Plan for the Payment of Breeder, Stallion, and Stakes Awards


Members of the public wishing to provide comments and/or observe the Board’s proceedings during the public portion of the meeting may do so either in-person or remotely via Zoom video teleconference.


Any person wishing to attend remotely via Zoom must register in advance at the following web page, no later than 10:00 AM on Friday, August 23, 2024:

Jockey Julien R. Leparoux is approaching a personal milestone of 3,000 Thoroughbred career wins in North America (US and Canada). Through Thursday, August 15, Leparoux was at 2,992 wins. He has two scheduled mounts at Saratoga Race Course on Friday.

Trainer George Weaver is approaching a personal milestone of 1,000 Thoroughbred career wins in North America (US and Canada). Through the seventh race at Saratoga Race Course on Thursday, August 15, Weaver was at 999 wins. He has five horses entered at Saratoga Race Course on Friday.
