Strategic Risk Ready for Southwest on Friday

Hot Springs, Ark. - Florida-bred Strategic Risk takes the 'Road to the Kentucky Derby' in the $1 million Grade 3 Southwest on Friday for 3-year-olds at mile-and-a-sixteenth at Oaklawn Park, due to the rescheduling of last weekend's card due to weather.

Stakes-Winner Grade 1-Placed Sweetontheladies Relocates to Solera Farm for 2026 Breeding Season

WILLISTON, Fla - John Kasbar has officially announced the return of Third-Crop Sire Sweetontheladies to Florida. The multiple stakes winner and graded stakes performer will stand at Solera Farm in Williston for the upcoming 2026 breeding season.

FTBOA Museum Talk Kicks off FAM Encounter Tour

On Feb. 5, Florida Thoroughbred Breeders' and Owners' Association's Tammy A. Gantt and FTBOA intern Rebecca Ramirez hosted a Florida Huddle and Encounter tourism group to kick off a three-day area familiarization tour showcasing Horse Capital of the World®.

New Thoroughbred breeders Jake and Teresa Hoffman of Avon Park, Fla just registered their first Florida-bred foal born on Feb. 4.


The colt is by Charge It out of Fancy Looker by Lookin At Lucky. Fancy Looker won one of three races for earnings of $46,1999. She was purchased for $13,000 from Pope McLean out of the Keeneland November Mixed sale in foal.
