Twirling Candy Filly Tops Second Day of OBS June at $400,000

Resolute Bloodstock purchased a daughter of Twirling Candy for $400,000 Thursday to top the second day of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales June Sale of Two Year Olds in Training and Horses of Racing Age. The auction will continue Friday with one session selling 2-year-olds followed by a session featuring horses of racing age session.

Florida-bred Hades Heads to Monmouth For Pegasus

Grade 3 Holy Bull-winning Florida-bred Hades is scheduled to make his return in Saturday’s $150,000 NYRA Bets Pegasus at Monmouth Park against seven other 3-year-olds at a mile-and-a-sixteenth. The Pegasus Stakes serves as the final local prep for the $1 Million, Grade 1 Haskell to be run on July 20.

Florida-bred Arthur's Ride Gets 111 Beyer Figure With Saratoga Score

Glassman Racing’s Florida-bred Arthur’s Ride has been credited with a 111 Beyer Speed Figure for his 12 ¾-length victory in a second level allowance at Saratoga Friday. 


According to Randy Moss on his weekly TDN Writer’s Room segment Wednesday, the 111 Beyer is tied for the second fastest of the year with Cogburn, who produced his number Saturday in the Grade 1 Jaipur presented by Resolute Racing at Saratoga. The fastest Beyer Speed Figure this year was a 113 achieved by Ova Charged in the $100,000 Page Cortez at Fair Grounds on March 24.

Gulfstream Cancels Friday Program Due to More Rainfall

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – With rainfall forecast to continue throughout South Florida through Thursday evening, Gulfstream Park has cancelled Friday’s nine-race program.


Heavy rain has caused damage and flooding in parts of Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade County since Wednesday afternoon.
