Florida-bred Nooni Set to Face Familiar Rivals in Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies

DEL MAR, CA—Second to stablemate Non Compliant last out in the Grade 2 Oak Leaf presented by Oak Tree, Florida-bred Nooni will try to turn the tables on her stablemate in the $2 million NetJets Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (Grade 1) Friday at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club. Trained by Hall of Famer Bob Baffert for Amr Zedan’s Zedan Racing Stable Inc., the Florida-bred daughter of Ocala Stud’s leading Florida freshman sire Win Win Win is among 10 fillies entered to go a mile-and-a-sixteenth in the Juvenile Fillies.

Nine juveniles are entered for Friday's $135,000 Atlantic Beach Stakes at Belmont at the Big A, with eight for turf and one designated as main track only. The six-furlongs will be contested on the outer turf course with the rail set at 12 feet.

West Nile Virus Confirmed in Marion County

According to the Equine Disease Communication Center and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, a Selle Français gelding at a private facility in Marion County, Fla., has tested positive for West Nile. According to the EDCC alert, an unknown number of other horses have been exposed at the facility.
