For generations, the Rice family has been part of the Thoroughbred racehorse industry. For Brandon Rice, that meant being fully immersed in the racehorse industry from day one.


“I was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, near [Penn National], but my family is all originally from Wisconsin. My mom was a jockey there for years, and she worked underneath my grandfather there. My father worked as an assistant trainer there also. They later became a husband-and-wife team running their racing stable,” says Brandon Rice.

Forever Souper Tops Florida-bred Exacta with Avery Whisman Victory

Florida-bred Forever Souper overtook Florida-bred Happyisashappydoes with a furlong to run then drew off to a two-and-a-quarter-length victory in the $79,200 Avery Whisman Memorial at Presque Isle Downs Monday. Florida-bred Anamnestic came on late to get second in the mile-and-70-yard contest that featured six 3-year-olds and older on the all-weather surface.

Florida-bred Beauty of the Sea Wins Second Consecutive Stakes With Andy Guest Score

Beauty of the Sea lived up to her 4-5 favoritism and won her second consecutive black type event with a straightforward victory in the $151,000 Andy Guest at Colonial Downs Sunday. The Andy Guest featured six fillies and mares, 3-years-old and older who went five-and-a-half furlongs on the turf.
