FTBOA Member Spotlight: Charles Hairfield

Charles Hairfield may be newer to the racehorse industry, but he is far from new to the Thoroughbred breed and the horse world.



His love of horses started at a young age on Seabrook Island, in South Carolina, where he has been boarding his horses since age 11. Today, he is the barn’s manager and a United States Hunter Jumper Association certified trainer.

Turf Racing Resumes Friday at Gulfstream Park

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL—Turf racing at Gulfstream Park is scheduled to resume Friday following a two-week hiatus. The first event scheduled for the grass is race five, a $25,000 claiming for fillies and mares which have never won two races.

Jockey Julien R. Leparoux is approaching a personal milestone of 3,000 Thoroughbred career wins in North America (US and Canada). Through Tuesday, August 27, Leparoux was at 2,993 wins. He has four scheduled mounts at Kentucky Downs Race Course on Thursday.
