Partnership to Study Ocala Racetrack Announced at Arizona Symposium

TUCSON, AZ - December 9, 2025 - FTBOA CEO Lonny Powell announced today at the University of Arizona Global Symposium on Racing that the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders’ and Owners’ Association has entered into a multi-year exclusive agreement with a Delaware-registered entity formed by former Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine and billionaire attorney John Morgan to pursue development of a modern Thoroughbred racing and entertainment complex in Marion County.

LEXINGTON, KY-The Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority announced on Monday the launch of a comprehensive review aimed at updating the Veterinarians' List and Stewards' List categories across U.S. Thoroughbred racing, with changes targeted for 2026.

LEXINGTON, KY-Keeneland's January Horses of All Ages Sale, which produced 2025 Prevagen Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint (Grade 1)-winner Shisospicy, has cataloged 1,046 horses for the 70th edition of the auction, which will cover two sessions on Jan. 12-13, 2026, that each begin at 10 a.m. ET.

Powell outlined the association’s strategic approach to the decoupling threat and acknowledged that FTBOA is actively exploring development of its dormant racing permit.
