In his first 21 career races, Stonehedge LLC's homebred Dean Delivers had one start outside his native Florida, a third-place finish in the Grade 1 Alfred G. Vanderbilt won by Elite Power last July at Saratoga.

Florida-bred Stat Overpowers Soldier's Dancer for First Stakes Victory as Joseph Caps Big Weekend

Stat secures second stakes win of the day and the third of the weekend for trainer Joseph

C2 Racing Stable LLC’s Florida-bred Stat improved his 2024 record to three wins in four starts with his first career stakes victory in the $90,000 Soldier’s Dancer at Gulfstream Park Sunday. With Edgard Zayas aboard, the 5-year-old overpowered his rivals coming out of the far turn to take a clear lead in the stretch and win by a length-and-a-quarter while facing seven rivals going a mile on the turf.

Florida-bred Night Cap Rallies from Last to Upset Dashing Beauty

DEA Thoroughbred Racing LLC's Florida-bred Night Cap rallied from far back to produce a mild upset at odds of 8-1 in the $125,000 Dashing Beauty at Delaware Park Sunday. The Dashing Beauty featured eight fillies and mares, 3-years-old and older, who went six furlongs.

Florida-bred colt brings $500,000 at Fasig-Tipton July of Selected Yearlings

Resolute Bloodstock went to $500,000 to purchase a Florida-bred colt by Maclean’s Music Tuesday during the Fasig-Tipton July Sale of Selected Yearlings. Selling as Hip 170 from the consignment of Gainesway as agent for Bridlewood Farm, the chestnut colt is out of Jotown, by Speightstown and is a half-brother to Florida-bred Spiralizer, a recent first-out winner of a maiden special weight at Churchill Downs on June 13. The colt was bred by Bridlewood Farm.

Trainer George Weaver is approaching a personal milestone of 1,000 Thoroughbred career wins in North America (US and Canada). Through racing Tuesday July 9, Weaver was at 996 wins. He has one horse entered at Saratoga on Thursday.
