Florida-bred Spiralizer Switches to Turf for Skidmore Stakes

Wathnan Racing's Spiralizer will make his first start on the grass Friday when the Florida-bred colt goes in the $150,000 Skidmore at Saratoga Race Course. Scheduled for five-and-a-half furlongs, the Skidmore has attracted seven 2-year-old colts, including main track only entrant Soontobeking.

Florida Thoroughbred PAC Announces 2024 Golf Tournament Set for October 4

The Florida Thoroughbred PAC announced the 2024 golf tournament has been set for Friday, October 4 at Stone Creek Golf Club in Ocala, Fla. The shotgun scramble tournament begins at 12:30 p.m. with many promotions throughout the course, an awards dinner, evening band, and a silent auction. Members of the Thoroughbred industry, vendors, local businesses, and the community attend annually.

Jockey Julien R. Leparoux is approaching a personal milestone of 3,000 Thoroughbred career wins in North America (US and Canada). Through the sixth race at Saratoga Race Course on Wednesday, August 14, Leparoux was at 2,992 wins. He has two scheduled mounts at Saratoga Race Course on Friday.

Trainer George Weaver is approaching a personal milestone of 1,000 Thoroughbred career wins in North America (US and Canada). Through the sixth race at Saratoga Race Course on Wednesday, August 14, Weaver was at 999 wins. He has two horses entered at Saratoga Race Course on Thursday.
