Florida-bred Rachel's Rock Ready for Go for Wand

A winner when first off the claim for trainer Michelle Giangiulio at Aqueduct in October, Florida-bred Rachel’s Rock will take a second crack at stakes company for her new connections Saturday in the Grade 3 Go For Wand at Aqueduct. Rachel’s Rock is among eight fillies and mares, 3-years-old and older set to go a mile for a purse of $200,000.

Florida-breds Face Off in Thursday Feature at

Gulfstream Park

A field of eight Florida-breds, 3-years-old and older, make up the $43,000 feature race at Gulfstream Park Thursday, a first level, $20,000 optional claiming set to go seven-and-a-half furlongs on the turf.

Strangles Confirmed in Sarasota County

According to the Equine Disease Communication Center and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, a private facility in County, Florida has been placed under quarantine by the FDACS as of Dec. 3 due a horse testing positive for strangles.
