Golf Tourney Showcases a Supportive Industry

OCALA, FL—The Florida Thoroughbred PAC golf tournament held on Friday, Oct. 4 at Stone Creek Golf Club in Ocala was won by Peterson Smith veterinarian Dr. Kevin Hahn’s team which included Paul Sharp, Kevin Keenan and Jeff Faulkner. Recently retired, Hahn fielded the team in the scramble event to produce a score of 22 under par, while second-place team, the Bruner family with Seminole Fence, finished 20 under par. In addition to excellent play in the scramble event, scores reflected the use of fundraising promotions including mulligans, a long driver promo, and hula hoop holes that knocked strokes off.

$400 Breeders' Cup Foal Nomination Deadline Closes Oct. 15

LEXINGTON, Ky―Breeders' Cup Limited issued a reminder today that Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 11:59 p.m. ET is the final deadline to nominate foals born in 2024 to the Breeders' Cup program at the one-time nomination fee of $400.

Florida-bred Steel Racer Returns Friday in Keeneland Optional Claiming

Florida-bred Steel Racer returns from a four-month break in a second condition, $80,000 optional claiming at Keeneland Friday while making her second start for trainer Jesus Esquivel. The $120,000 contest has attracted six fillies and mares, 3-years-old and older going a mile-and-a-sixteenth.
