Happy 90th Birthday Doña Angelica - Los Cedros

Doña Angelica started the first center of the W/NP Learning Center network back in 1981, and continues to coordinate activities to this day.  (There are now about 67 active Learning Centers throughout Nicaragua)   From 1982 to 2017 nearly 2,000 students passed through the Los Cedros Learning Center. This was possible by Wisconsin and Nicaraguan volunteers working together and promoting programs carried out in Nicaragua.  Over the years, classes have included sewing, bakery, handcraft skills, music, English, a lending library, knitting and embroidery.

Appleton summer rummage sale

Linda graciously opened her home, basement and garage once again for the 10th time.  A tremendous amount of hours are involved with preparation, sales and finally clean up.  The proceeds help to support scholarships and a wide variety of projects in Nicaragua.
"The rummage sale is an example of WNP's motto, Working Together We Make a Difference. This sale would not have been a success without each and every one of you..... the workers, the donors, the canopy man, the McDonalds group, those who gave monetary donations, the banker and record keeper, the brat man, grandma Sue and famous brownies, Patty W. and the use of her tables, Deb W. and the fairy house creation, etc. etc.  A job well-done!"

Remember doing Science projects in school?

The libraries in Nicaragua are a wonderful place for children to gather, read, work on projects, make crafts and have fun together. Thanks to all in Wisconsin and Nicaragua who help to make this possible.

David was very proud of his electrical circuit project completed at the library in Cedro Galan, Gracias a Dios.
