Wisconsin 12 Days of Christmas   12/11/2018
Second Day
Two Kringles...

The holidays are all about Kringles in certain parts of the state – especially in Racine, where Kringles are the city’s pride and joy.

But all of Wisconsin can lay claim to the Kringle, which became the official state pastry of Wisconsin on June 30, 2013.

CBS News did a story on Bendtsen’s Bakery in Racine (four generations of Kringle making!) a few years back.  As reported, that bakery makes 5,000-7,000 Kringles daily, but during the holidays, they've shipped up to 20,000 in one day.

That’s a lot of happy people eating Kringles all over Wisconsin - and well beyond.
