CORRECTION: Governor Evers Signs Human Trafficking Bill
The November 25 Capitol Update incorrectly described
Assembly Bill 22
(Rep. Jeremy Thiesfeldt, R-Fond du Lac), which Governor Evers signed into law as
2019 Wisconsin Act 27
. The bill requires that commercial motor vehicle driver education provide instruction in the recognition and prevention of human trafficking. The WCC supported the bill.
Governor Evers Signs Homeless Shelter Bill
Last month, Governor Evers signed
Assembly Bill 52
, which grants admission to unaccompanied 17-year-old minors to a shelter or transitional living program (
2019 Wisconsin Act 22
). The WCC supported the bill.
