Legislature Adjourns
The Legislature last week adjourned its 2017-18 session without holding the extraordinary session on special elections, as previously planned. The next Capitol Update will provide a session summary and then appear less frequently until the new 2019-20 session.
Governor Signs Bill Prohibiting Taxpayer Funds for Abortion
On April 3, Governor Walker signed Assembly Bill 128 into law as
2017 Wisconsin Act 91
. The Act prohibits elective abortion coverage in the health insurance plans of public employees, thus prohibiting the use of taxpayer funds for
the performance of abortions.
