It’s a busy week, so we’re here with a slimmed-down version of our Wisconsin Conference This Week newsletter. Here are the most important dates and deadlines to keep an eye on:
Annual Meeting 2026 will start at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 10, at Green Lake Conference Center with an opening worship service led by the Rev. Daniel Cooperrider. The first business session is scheduled for 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Registration opens at 8 a.m. in the lobby of Kraft Centre.
Friday room check-in is at 4 p.m., but there is plenty to keep you busy until then.
Conference Minister Franz Rigert’s State of the Conference address, wellness activities, and workshops are all on the docket for Friday afternoon. And make sure to visit the more than two dozen exhibitors set up in Staughton Hall.
Saturday’s agenda includes gathering music performed by the Wisconsin Gospellers, a keynote address by Edith Guffey, a final business meeting and closing worship with a sermon by the Rev. Nicole Herda.
We look forward to seeing you at Green Lake. Now, here are some reminders about other opportunities coming up in the next few weeks:
The Creation Care Team has compiled a list of suggested activities for congregations and individuals participating in the 2026 Earth Day Challenge. Earth Day is April 22
The Interfaith Peace Working Group will host “Nonviolence in Action: An Interfaith Conversation on Building the Beloved Community” on Thursday, April 23, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Madison. Speakers include internationally known faith leader Shane Claiborne.
Consider a donation to the Wisconsin Conference’s special appeal to support recovery in regions of Hawaii that have been devastated by floods in the past month. At least three UCC churches in Hawaii are in communities directly affected by the flooding, and several other UCC churches have opened their doors as shelters.
Check out the Damascus Project’s spring course offerings. Among them are three anti-racism courses designed to help authorized ministers or members in discernment meet standing requirements in the Wisconsin Conference.
Yearbook Reports are due April 10. Find instructions here, and contact the Conference office if you need the access code: 608-846-7880 or via email.
Check out Freshwater Faithworks. It’s a new intergenerational care-of-creation experience, co-sponsored by the Wisconsin and Minnesota conferences, that will take place in two parts: a family camp set for June 28-July 1 at Daycholah Center and a service and learning trip to Minnesota for middle schoolers from July 29 to Aug. 2.
