Annual Meeting theme points to a church set for mission

UCC@70: Rooted, Renewed, Ready will be the theme of the 2027 Annual Meeting of the Wisconsin Conference. The theme is drawn from a passage in Paul’s Second Letter to the Corinthians, in which the apostle encourages the faithful to respond faithfully to God’s grace: “As we work together with him, we entreat you also not to accept the grace of God in vain. For he says, ‘At an acceptable time I have listened to you, and on a day of salvation I have helped you. Look, now is the acceptable time; look, now is the day of salvation!’" (2 Corinthians 6:1-2). Annual Meeting will take place April 9-10 at Green Lake Conference Center.

Daycholah to host November Justice Summit

If you are involved in or simply curious about the justice ministries of the Wisconsin Conference, make plans now to attend the Justice Summit scheduled for Nov. 15-16 at Daycholah Center. It promises to be a great opportunity to share what you’re working on and how the various justice ministries might collaborate in the future. Keynoter for the retreat will be the Rev. Michael Neuroth, director of the UCC’s Washington Office of Public Policy & Advocacy, who will address the issues we care most about and what Congress is doing about them. Cost to attend is $90 per person and includes lodging, meals, and program. Interested? Learn more and register today.

2027 Compensation Guidelines available for download

The 2027 Compensation Guidelines for full- and part-time ministers are now available on the Wisconsin Conference website. The guidelines are intended to ensure searching congregations offer competitive pay packages in a religious environment in which the number of vacant pulpits exceeds the number of candidates, and many candidates are searching nationwide. The guidelines establish minimum compensation levels and apply to anyone serving as an authorized minister in a Wisconsin Conference congregation, including settled pastors, interim pastors, designated-term pastors, and co-pastors. Churches that cannot afford to pay at the minimum level should contact the Conference staff.
