Wisconsin Swimming Short Course Championship Meets COVID-19 Reminder
Wisconsin Swimming Members,

THANK YOU for your hard work, dedication, and commitment to creating practice and competitive opportunities for our athletes. Your adaptability and nimbleness is greatly appreciated. The swimming community’s response has helped Wisconsin Swimming find ways to continue our programs and services for athletes state-wide.

Wisconsin Swimming cannot enforce strict rules regulating behavior outside practice or competition. We ask you to review the recommendations of state and local health officials as you go about your day-to-day business. Please use your best judgment in the days leading up to the Wisconsin Swimming Championship meets. Do your part to keep yourself, the swimming community, and our ability to continue offering practice and competitions safely in mind. The swimming community shares the responsibility for ensuring athlete safety in the coming weeks.

The following list includes some, but not all, the ubiquitous COVID-19 public health recommendations:
  • Maintain social distancing in public places with at least six feet of separation.
  • Avoid large events where social distancing is not possible.
  • Wash your hands frequently and use hand sanitizer.
  • Avoid physical contact including handshakes, hugging, etc, as you greet and congratulate people.
  • When in public wear a face-covering - especially when social distancing is not possible.
  • Avoid touching common surfaces.
  • When making purchases, consider how to make the transaction touchless.
  • Avoid car-pooling, if possible.
  • Avoid public transportation, if possible.
  • Do not use public drinking fountains.
  • Do not use common utensils or share drinks.
  • Do not travel to known “hot spots”.

Wisconsin Swimming members must follow state and local guidelines. Wisconsin Swimming meet hosts are required to implement a safety plan, assumption of risk & release of liability waiver, as part of their sanction. Please visit CDC (https://www.cdc.gov) or your local health department websites for further guidelines.

Thank you again for all you do and best of luck to your athletes during this championship season. Stay healthy and safe!

Take care-
