This first audio interview with Greg Moffitt, of
Legalize Freedom, delves into my new history of science fiction. Greg and I discuss our earliest experiences with science fiction, the mythological origins and dimensions of science fiction, the "scientific" dimension of science fiction, the importance of narrative, utopian and dystopian science fiction, and the impact of science fiction on modern culture. Holistic Future Consciousness

The
World Futures Studies Federation will be hosting its bi-annual global conference "Uses of the Future" in Mexico City September 10th to the 13th. See the
Conference website
for details. This conference will be the big futurist event in the Western hemisphere for the year 2019.
During the conference, aside from giving short introductory presentations on my two books: Future Consciousness - The Path to Purposeful Evolution and Science Fiction - The Evolutionary Mythology of the Future, I will be offering an integrative half-day workshop"Holistic Future Consciousness."
Included in the workshop are "take-away" personalized practical activities for heightening future consciousness and wisdom that are informed and inspired by science fiction, philosophy, and contemporary psychology.
Important concepts and themes discussed in the workshop include: evolution as a fundamental framework for understanding and guiding reality, humanity, and the future; the unique capacity of human purposeful evolution and the empowering and essential role of future consciousness in this process; self-responsibility, ethical character virtues, and the evolution of the conscious mind as essential to realizing a good future and constructively addressing many of our fundamental contemporary problems and challenges; the value of utopian and dystopian visions, as well as speculative considerations on aliens, space travel, robots and A.I., time travel, and alternate realities, in thinking about and guiding the future; wisdom as the holistic ideal of heightened future consciousness and human psychological evolution; becoming a "wise cyborg" and evolving a "wise society" for the future; and creating ideal future wisdom narratives, both personal and grand, as guidance systems for the human mind and human society.

Wisdom and the Future Research Center
on Wikiversity is an evolution of the newsletter Wisdom and the Future. This new site, a dual creation of Lee Beaumont and Tom Lombardo, is an evolutionary forum for contributions from writers and researchers on wisdom and the future.
The Wikiversity platform is an enduring and organic platform that invites research projects. Mechanisms within the Wikiversity platform and various policies work toward attracting, improving, and maintaining useful materials.
Please take a look at the nascent research center and give us your thoughts. Is the primary research question
