Virginia Enterprise Zone Incentive Applications are now Open!

The Virginia Enterprise Zone (VEZ) program is a partnership between state and local government that encourages job creation and private investment. VEZ accomplishes this by designating Enterprise Zones throughout the state and providing two grant-based incentives, the Job Creation Grant (JCG) and the Real Property Investment Grant (RPIG), to qualified investors and job creators within those zones.

If your business is located within Wise County's designated Enterprise Zone (check here by searching your address), and you have either created new, permanent full-time jobs or made a real property investment within the zone during 2020, you may be eligible for VEZ financial incentives!

For more details on incentive eligibility and grant awards, visit DHCD's VEZ Program Page.

A Small Business Strategy & Resource Guide
Winter brings cold weather and unique challenges for the small businesses community:

  • Low temperatures and precipitation may mean less foot traffic and tourism, and ultimately, fewer in-person customers and sales.

  • Increased competition from big box stores and large online retailers as consumers search for deals on holiday gifts and show preference for one-stop shopping.
