Blessings!
The bible says that God causes his blessings to fall on both the unrighteous and the righteous. So, whether or not you believe in God, he is still blessing you. Therefore, enjoy this weekend for the blessing that it is - We are!
We are going to have a luncheon [barbecue, burgers, and brats] after Church with our youngest son [Peter], his wife [Ann], our grandson [and their son, Matthias Richard [Note that middle name]], and a friend of Ann's [Kendra]. It will be wonderful!
I pray that your Memorial Day Weekend will be wonderful, too, even if you are alone.
In the midst of all of the merriment, please take time to remember those who gave their lives, limbs, or psychological well-being so that we could enjoy our barbecues, get-togethers, football, or the start of a vacation and our lives in these United States of America.
Everyone that I know that went off to WWII, Korea, Vietnam, or the mid-East, came back. Some came back not as the people they were when they left, but they are doing well now.
But, that is not the case for everyone. Some came back in a casket. Some came back without limbs. Some came back so deeply scarred that they commit suicide to escape.
I don't write this to cast a "downer" on this weekend, but to show how blest we are to be celebrating Memorial Day, due to their love and efforts for you and me.
