Support the Adoption Tax Credit Refundability Act!
As it stands now, many adoptive families are not able to take advantage of the adoption tax credit because simply put, they do not earn enough yearly wages. Yes, it is true! As it exists now, adoptive families only qualify for the adoption tax credit only do so because their incomes are high enough to lead to a large enough tax liability. Adoption is expensive and this seems almost backwards as the families who earn the least are the families who need the most financial support. How is this possible and how do we change it?
Let’s use our voices to advocate for change! Please support the Adoption Tax Credit Refundability Act. This is a bill which will allow lower-income adoptive families to have the same level of financial support middle-income families receive. Please read this summary from NCFA’s President Ryan Hanlon.
