Ramadan 12, 1443 | APRIL 13, 2022
RECLAIMING OUR LEGACY

Let us endeavor to make the most of the remaining time in the blessed month of Ramadan so we can reap its generous rewards. Remember, your body has rights over you, so try to get proper rest and nutrition. Make an effort to increase in charity, practice patience and be merciful to others, and consider doing more adhkar and Quran study. Strive hard, whether in your relationships, at work, in your worship, or just being mindful of how you spend your time and take care of your health.

“O you who believe, fasting is prescribed for you as it was proscribed for those before you, that you may (learn) self-restraint.” (Qur’an 2:183)

Remember TISA in your charity. Hundreds of students are learning Deen and Prophetic Leadership skills. Whether it be about the Book of Allah ﷻ or the life of the Prophet saw, 50% of our students are receiving scholarships. Give the gift of knowledge and be a part of this Sadaqa e Jariya.

VIP Event

TISA's Visionary Leadership Circle currently headed by Dr. Samad Khan of Frisco, Texas, hosted its first virtual event with TISA supporters and patrons on Friday, March 25th. Dr. Samad Khan, himself a strong supporter of advanced Islamic studies and a staunch believer in developing leadership among the new generation of Believing Academics, was joined by the TISA's Board at the event. Guests to this event had the wonderful opportunity to hear firsthand from Dr. Yasir Qadhi, Dr. Jimmy Jones, Dr. Athar Haq, and Attorney Roula Allouch the vision of TISA and how TISA's mission is enabling the devout students of TISA to carry out their academic goals.

MSA, Texas Annual Showdown

TISA was a top-level sponsor of the 15th Annual MSA Showdown from March 25th-27th hosted at the University of North Texas. The MSA Showdown, organized by the Lone Star Council, is an annual meeting of university and college MSAs from across the state of Texas, for participation and competition in a wide range of activities, including sports, arts, nasheed, tajweed, film, and more. In addition, the competitions are interspersed with halaqas, socials, and networking opportunities.

TISA, as a top-level sponsor, had a booth present on two out of the three days of the Showdown. TISA staff members were able to engage with college students from across the state of Texas. They were able to raise awareness of the existence of TISA amongst that demographic, answer questions about our courses and degree programs, and generate interest in those close to or past graduation in considering TISA for their graduate studies.

In all, with the help of Allah swt, TISA’s presence and sponsorship of the MSA Showdown was a success, and an important step in starting to create a pipeline for undergraduate students to pursue their graduate studies at TISA.
