At 85 years young, Doris is our newest DayBreak volunteer, driving in from Florissant, two days a week, to spend time with our DayBreak participants and to assist our team members. She came to Colorado from California to work in the Aerospace Industry (Martin Marietta) and retired to Florissant to help her husband build their log home.
She has also enjoyed volunteering at the nearby Fossil Beds National Monument. Doris likes cross-country skiing, hiking, bird watching and needle-working. Looking for something useful and caring to do with her free time, she found herself at DayBreak. She said it was a natural choice because it is so nice to help provide well-deserved respite to the caregivers...and she should know as she was a caregiver to her father before he passed away.
Doris is a delightful addition to our Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Welcome to DayBreak, Doris - we're so glad you found us!!!
