Dear Barrington 220 Community,
I know we are all excited to begin winter break and celebrate the holidays with friends and family. As we prepare to ring in 2025, I wanted to share some reflections on the first half of the 2024-25 school year.
I am fortunate to see firsthand the learning and growth happening in our schools every day, and we have much to be proud of in Barrington 220. This season is all about gratitude and giving, so it feels like a great time to express my appreciation for the dedication of our students, staff and community partners. The recent Winter Wonderfest and Barrington Giving Day events are shining examples of what we can accomplish together. You are All in 220, and it shows!
Thanks to our community’s support of the Build 220 initiative, students and staff are now enjoying improved educational spaces throughout the district as well as safer and more secure buildings. With the recent $64M referendum approval, we anticipate breaking ground on Transform 220 construction projects in summer 2025. It is an exciting time for our district, and I am grateful that we are able to embark on this next phase of school improvements.
As we head into 2025, we look forward to continued work on our strategic plan, Framework 220. We are making significant progress within each of our six strategic priority areas, and we appreciate community members’ participation in key advisory committees. This engagement is truly valued and is a big part of what makes Barrington 220 a destination district.
Over the next couple of weeks, my wish is for you to be truly present and enjoy your time with family and friends. Our staff will return to school on Monday, Jan. 6 and students will return on Tuesday, Jan. 7. Until then, I hope you have a wonderful winter break and I look forward to seeing you in 2025!
