Invite You to Adopt a New Furry Friend This Weekend

Los Angeles, March 16, 2023 –Bigger dogs are often challenged in finding a new home, so our friends at Helpful Honda will be helping medium and larger sized canine companions get adopted this Saturday, March 18, at our East Valley Animal Services Center from 11am to 3pm. Families who adopt a medium and/or larger-sized canine companion will be provided a new pet starter kit that includes a collar, leash, dog bed, toys, and food to help make it easier to welcome and bring home a new furry friend. We will also be hosting a second Helpful Honda Pet Adoption event at our Chesterfield Square/South LA Center next Saturday, March 25 from 11am to 3pm.

To further encourage adoptions of our canine companions and feline friends, LA Animal Services will be offering reduced adoption fees at all six of our Centers for dogs and cats on Saturday, March 18 and Sunday, March 19. Adoption fees for dogs will be $51, puppies, $75 (excluding license fees for LA City residents); cats $12.50 and $25 for kittens

“We are so thankful for our friends at Helpful Honda for teaming up with us this weekend to help our medium and larger sized dogs find new homes,” said Annette Ramirez, Interim General Manager for LA Animal Services. “Our shelters are at critical capacity with dogs making up the greatest population in our six Centers. If you are able to foster or adopt, please open your heart and home to a new furry friend.”

Dogs and cats adopted from LA Animal Services join their new families already spayed or neutered, vaccinated, licensed, and microchipped, and adopters receive a VCA Healthy Start Certificate, which provides up to $250 of follow up veterinary care within the first 14 days of adoption. In addition, canine companions adopted from LA Animal Services are also eligible for free dog training classes at the Paws for Life K9 Rescue People & Pet Innovation Center in Mission Hills, CA. Contact [email protected] for more details. You can view the wonderful dogs, cats, rabbits, and pocket pets who are ready to meet you and who are available for adoption in our Centers by going to laanimalservices.com/adopt.
