Greetings!

"Give yourself a gift of five minutes of contemplation in awe of everything you see around you. Go outside and turn your attention to the many miracles around you. This five-minute-a-day regimen of appreciation and gratitude will help you to focus your life in awe."

~Wayne Dyer

November is the month I usually refer to as gratitude month, and those of you who have been following me for a while know that since childhood, Thanksgiving has been my favorite holiday. I do believe that the traditions and ways of our childhoods stay with us for the rest of our lives. Recently, I wrote about the influence of early childhood muses from a writer's perspective. Please check out this article in Medium, called, "The Weight of Childhood Muses."

It has been a rough few months for me and I'm feeling gratitude that everything is settling and my loved ones are in a good place. My hope for you is that you're also in a good place and have a lot to be grateful for during this upcoming holiday season!

Please take a peek at the November writing prompts below to inspire you to write about all of your blessings!

It is no surprise that Rachel Aviv is an acclaimed writer for the esteemed New Yorker. This book was inspired by the author's brush with mental illness as a young girl. She discusses her experience at great length in the book's prologue. Aviv's writing is crisp and powerful. The idea that our stories about mental illness determine who we are is not a new one, but Aviv's presentation is new. While grounding us in her own story, she leads us into the narratives of four other individuals who have dealt with mental illness during various stages in their lives. She draws on original and deep reporting coupled with her compelling writing style.

This book is for those who have dealt with mental health challenges in themselves or others, or simply for those who are interested in the human condition and all that it brings along with it. This book inspires us to feel grateful about all that can go right in our life and how complex life is–even in the best of times.
