Greetings!
It was a two-coyote week for me at Bear Valley...one unhurriedly crossing Bear Valley Road on my drive in and the other spied in the meadow across from the PRNSA porch. This Thanksgiving I am so grateful for my health, the chance to gather with more ease, and the way wildlife sightings lighten my heart. I am also grateful to you and our growing community of park friends.
I’m grateful for the growing partnership between the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria and the National Park Service. PRNSA is also deepening this connection as we plan new summer programming with the tribe to connect tribal youth to their ancestral lands through our Youth in Parks program.
As you enjoy the season of holiday celebrations, I hope you find time to explore at the Seashore. As a gift, our staff have created a walking guide of the post-Woodward Fire regeneration at Sky Trail. Take this Your Park, Your Place walk solo or with friends. I'd love hear what you are seeing!

Sky Trail Self Guided Hike
This past August, to mark the one-year anniversary of the 2020 Woodward Fire at Point Reyes National Seashore, PRNSA led almost 20 Fire Ecology Hikes through different sections of the burn zone. One of our most popular options was the intermediate Sky Trail hike.
This two-page self guided hike will take you along the Inverness Ridge and through the central area of the Woodward Fire perimeter. You can find the PDF version here, and either read it before hiking, or print it out and take it with you. Enjoy!

Native American Heritage Month
The month is a time to celebrate rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and histories and to acknowledge the important contributions of Native people. Heritage Month is also an opportune time to educate the general public about tribes, to raise a general awareness about the unique challenges Native people have faced both historically and in the present, and the ways in which tribal citizens have worked to conquer these challenges
