Greetings!

It's starting to feel like springtime and we just celebrated Valentine's day- love is in the air! Every day at Casa we see the transformative power of love. Love built Casa de Esperanza and keeps it going. Love helps parents bring their children to Casa, love heals children and families, and love empowers our organization- staff, volunteers, and donors- to do this work day after day. It's amazing to consider what our community has accomplished through love.

Casa de Esperanza has always relied on the love and commitment of the community to keep children safe and strengthen families. The volunteers who serve on Casa's Governing Board are committed to the well-being of the organization through governance and the gifts of time, talent and treasure. This year, we welcome new Governing Board members Jonathon Martinez, Scott Michelman, Katie Register, and Matt Reichenthal. Each of them first became involved with Casa de Esperanza through volunteerism, and we welcome their energy and talent to the board. Find out how you can volunteer with Casa de Esperanza here.

Meet Natalie, A Hands of Hope House Parent!

Hometown: Louisville, KY

Alma mater: Clemson University

Degree: B.S. in Spanish Language & International Health, minor in Psychology

Future plans: PhD in Clinical Child Psychology

What is one thing we can’t tell just by looking at you?

I love to travel and try new things, especially local food. Some of my most adventurous eats have been guinea pig and ostrich!

What's your favorite memory or story with a child?

Thanksgiving was always my favorite holiday as a child, and I really wanted to make it special for the kids. Two stand-out moments were the look on their faces when they saw all of our decorations on the table and watching the Macy's Day Parade while dancing around the living room. By the end of the day, the kids were asking if we could have Thanksgiving every day!

What is one thing you learned since arriving at Casa de Esperanza?

I've learned that effort and energy are everything. All that we have control over is this indefinite period of time in the kids’ lives, and it's our job to make every second count. It is always worth it to go the extra mile to create joyful childhood memories.

Building Hope for Children Gala

Wine Donations Wanted!

Looking for a way to help Casa get ready for our Building Hope for Children gala? We are currently seeking donations of wine bottles with a minimum value of $25 or more. Your support will help raise $10,000 to support our mission and programs!

We’re here to make it easy for you. Simply email Erika with your intent to donate and we can schedule a time for a team member or volunteer to come pick it up! Donations can also be dropped off at Casa de Esperanza front desk Monday thru Friday from 10 AM – 4 PM.
