Hello Friends,
COVID‐19 cases in Yolo County are at the highest level since the beginning of the pandemic. Yolo County hospitals are often at or near capacity.
On many days there are no intensive care beds available. Worse, hospitals outside our county are also experiencing a surge and cannot be relied upon to accept all of our patients. This affects not only COVID patients but people who suffer heart attacks or have other life threatening conditions.
The current surge follows many Thanksgiving gatherings and another surge is likely following the December holidays.
The best gift this holiday season is ensuring that we all are able to celebrate holidays in 2021.
Please stay at home as much as possible.
The vaccine will not be widely available to the general public for months.
With the surge in cases, activities that were considered safe in the past now result in COVID-19 infection. As a result, all gatherings with non-household members, whether indoor or outdoor, are prohibited. Travel is strongly discouraged.
Remember the recommended actions: stay at home as much as possible, wear masks outside the home, stay at least 6 feet apart, and wash your hands frequently.
With your help, we can exercise the true spirt of the holidays by keeping cases down and making room "at the inn" for all who need our help.
Wishing you and your family a safe and happy holiday season!
-Jim
