Contribute Online to Gifts of Gratitude
Gifts of Gratitude was established by the Home and School Association as a united effort to provide monetary gifts to teachers and staff members at Christmas and the end of year to thank them for all they do for our children.
Why participate?
This is a convenient way for families to make sure that each teacher, aide, and staff member who touches your child's life is recognized for all they do at St. Brigid. Instead of several small gifts from each student, each teacher and staff member will receive a monetary gift that they choose how to use - whether they want to splurge on themselves or help with their own family's expenses.
What if I already participated at Christmas? If your family donated to the Gifts of Gratitude program at Christmas time, no need to donate again! We only ask for each family to donate once each year.
How much do I give? The suggested annual gift amount is $25 per child; however, any amount is graciously accepted!
What's the deadline?
Please contribute by May 10, 2019 for the year-end gifts.

7th Grade Scholarship Day
In an effort to celebrate the seventh grade students of Saint Brigid of Kildare as the next leaders of our school, the Home and School Association is pleased to announce this year's "Middle School Scholarship" open to all seventh grade students regardless of financial need or academic merit. This year's scholarship competition will take place on Friday, May 17th. Two (2) scholarships valued at $500 each will be awarded on May 31st at the 9:00 AM Leadership Mass. The scholarships will be applied to Saint Brigid tuition for the 2019-2020 school year.
Our Home and School Association is the parent run volunteer organization dedicated to supporting the mission statement of Saint Brigid of Kildare School thereby enriching the Catholic school experience for students and expressing appreciation to those committed to our school. In an effort to give back to the students, this scholarship will be awarded to two individuals who demonstrate that they embody the mission statement and represent all that Saint Brigid has given to them to become the Catholic individuals they are today as they are poised to take on the role as leaders of the school.
Students may compete either by writing an essay or by completing an interview with a panel of adults. Seventh grade students will meet with Mrs. Lombardo on Friday, April 12th to discuss the details of the competition and how they can prepare for "Scholarship Day." In their April 12th Friday Folders, they will receive materials about the scholarship competition to share with parents. The requirements of the program are as follows:
Requirements:
- Complete and submit "Application and Declaration Form" by Friday, May 3, 2019 to the school office attention Mrs. Lombardo.
- Complete a written essay (1 ½ pages and up to 5 paragraphs within 90 minutes) or an oral interview (5 -10 minutes) on "Scholarship Day", Friday, May 17, 2019.
- Submit two reference forms on "Scholarship Day."
- Bring the assigned PIN number to "Scholarship Day" to include on the essay or to give to the interviewer.
It is the sincere desire of Home and School Association that this is a rewarding experience for our seventh graders and that they learn how truly special we believe they are in the role of leaders of Saint Brigid of Kildare School.

New Scholarship Created for Catholic Education
Saint Brigid of Kildare Parish is happy to announce the creation of the Bishop Robert J. Brennan and Murico Family Scholarship for Catholic Education. This scholarship will be awarded annually to a Saint Brigid of Kildare Parish eighth grade student who is registered to attend a Catholic high school for the upcoming school year.
The scholarship will amount to a $3,500 gift for the selected student to use towards their Catholic high school tuition. This scholarship was established from a combined donation from Bishop Robert J. Brennan and Carmen and Mary Murico. Bishop Robert Brennan chose to forgo the normal stipend received for Confirmation -- instead, he left it to each pastor's discretion how to use this stipend each year. Monsignor Hendricks chose to use the stipend to establish the Bishop Robert J. Brennan Scholarship for Catholic Education. In addition, Carmen and Mary Murico committed to partnering in this scholarship with an annual donation, bringing the total scholarship to $3,500, to be awarded each year.
"We wanted to give back to St. Brigid because both the parish and school have had such a positive and significant impact on our family,"
said Carmen Murico. "
A Catholic education has given our children thorough academics which prepared them well for their higher education. More importantly, our daughters gained a spiritual foundation from a dedicated staff during their elementary and high school days. This faith community has stayed with them to this day."
The scholarship recipient will be a Saint Brigid of Kildare Parish eighth grade student enrolled in either the Religious Education program or Saint Brigid of Kildare School, and registered to attend a Catholic high school for the 2019-2020 school year. Monsignor Hendricks will select the student and announce the recipient on Thursday, May 30, 2019.
Saint Brigid of Kildare Parish is grateful to Bishop Robert J. Brennan and Carmen and Mary Murico for their faithful and generous support of Saint Brigid of Kildare Parish and Catholic education.
