The O'Reilly Minute
Dear Parents,

I hope you had a blessed and joyous Easter with your families!

This week we are hosting our annual Corks for a Cause event and we are very excited that this year’s event is in-person!  Our school and parish community are very thankful for the many families and businesses sponsoring our event which in turn supports our SPiCE program. Our SPiCE program is more critical than ever as we strive to best serve our students academically and emotionally during these challenging times. Thank you in advance for your generous support of our SPiCE program through your prayers, volunteer hours, and generous donations.

Our SAC (School Advisory Committee) is seeking a few new members to serve on the board for the next three years. Please review the details in the article below and prayerfully consider submitting an application before the April 29th deadline.

Just a reminder that tomorrow we have an Early Release Day at 1:30 pm and students and staff are invited to dress down by wearing their Blue Ribbon T-shirts.

Spring Blessings,

Kathy O’Reilly

Volunteer & Donation Opportunities
Gifts of Gratitude: Teacher & Staff Appreciation Gift
What is it?
Gifts of gratitude was established by the Home and School Association as a united effort to provide a generous monetary gift to every school and parish teacher and staff member at Christmas and the end of the year to thank them for all they do for our children.

Why participate?
This is a convenient way for families to make sure that each teacher, aide, and staff member who touches your child's life is recognized for all they do at St. Brigid.
Instead of several small gifts from each student, each teacher and staff member will receive a monetary gift that they choose how to use--whether they want to splurge on themselves or help with their own family's expenses.

What if I already participated at Christmas?
If your family donated to the Gifts of Gratitude program previously this school year, there is no need to donate again. We only ask for each family to donate once per school year.

Will my family be recognized for participating?
Yes -- the teachers and staff will receive a list of families who participate in this
program.

How much should I give?
The suggested annual gift amount is $25 per child once a year, however any given amount is graciously accepted and appreciated!

Can't remember if you already contributed?
No worries -- just contact Sherri Johnson at [email protected] or Anne Flock at [email protected] and they will let you know!

What's the deadline?
Please contribute by May 13th for the year end gifts.

You can find the link for Gifts of Gratitude at the button below. Choose your donation amount and that's it. It's that easy! It's such a simple way to show appreciation to your child/children's teachers and the staff at St Brigid of Kildare.
SAC Applications Now Open
Take an active part in making our already amazing school even better. Apply for a position (3-year term) on St. Brigid's School Advisory Committee (SAC). The purpose of the School Advisory Committee is to provide the pastor of Saint Brigid of Kildare Parish and the principal of Saint Brigid of Kildare School with advice and to make recommendations regarding issues affecting the school.

The mission of the School Advisory Committee is to promote and support a distinctive religious learning environment that provides for the propagation of the Catholic faith and values, fosters academic excellence, and develops fully the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional capabilities unique to each student. SAC meets once a month during the school months on the second Monday of the month at 6:30 PM. Prior to applying, please consider if you can commit to this time commitment for a three-year period.

The deadline for applications is April 29, 2022 and they can be submitted via the link below.

World's Largest Diaper Drive
Saint Brigid of Kildare School is again partnering with Bottoms Up Diaper Bank to participate in this year’s World’s Largest Diaper Drive.

Bottoms Up delivers free diapers and wipes to social service agencies so that moms and families living below the poverty line are able to have access to the diapers they need for their babies. In other words, when a single mother walks into a food pantry that partners with Bottoms Up, she is assured to get the size diapers necessary for her baby. Single moms are particularly susceptible to living below the poverty line. Please keep the underprivileged and marginalized in our society in your prayers as you participate in the World's Largest Diaper Drive.

Bottoms Up delivers an average of 60,000 diapers per month to over 50 community partners in Central and Southern Ohio. That’s an average of 2,000 fresh, dry diapers every day for babies whose mothers struggle to afford the $70-$80/month it costs to keep their babies clean, dry, and healthy.

Bottoms Up continues to grow with very little promotion and a lot of dedication to principled charity. Diapers are collected through drives at churches, schools, and businesses or purchased through the generosity of others.

At Saint Brigid, we will collect packages of diapers in various sizes the week of April 25. If you are able to help us with this world-record setting attempt and our individual school goal of 15,000 diapers, please send in these sizes of diapers to school on April 25-April 29. Thank you!

Hendrick’s Hall – St. Brigid of Kildare Parish

All married and engaged couples are invited to St. Brigid’s 23rd Make It a Date!

It will be a flashback Saturday as we reminisce about how we first met our spouses and our first impressions of each other.

Parishioners Mark and Patsy Callahan will be our guides on this journey down memory lane. The Callahans have been married for 22 years and have 2 children.

Like always, we’ll have light appetizers and there will be a chance to catch up with old and new friends.

At the conclusion of the event, couples leave on their own date at a venue of their choice to talk about the evening and how it relates to their own relationships.

Altar Servers Needed - Training Coming
All students in the fifth grade and older are invited to become Altar Servers for Weekend and Holy Day Masses.

Is the Lord calling you to serve? Answer the Lord’s call by becoming an Altar Server! St. Brigid of Kildare is encouraging all those in the fifth grade and above to consider becoming an Altar Server. You will have only one training session to attend and one short manual to read and study. Do this and you are ready to be scheduled as an Altar Server. It is a rewarding service!

Once the number of Altar Servers is determined, we will be scheduling a couple of training sessions that will be about an hour to an hour and a half in length.

To register to become an Altar Server:
please reach out to Mr. Joe Feehan via his email address:  [email protected].

Thank you very much for your interest. We look forward to having you part of this most important team.
