Thank you for your support of our SPICE program! This past week we held our “Corks for a Cause” fundraiser which was a great success! Look for an email in the near future with details about the event. The funds raised will be used to support our on-going efforts to ensure that all of our children receive the specialized support they need to grow spiritually, emotionally and academically. If you purchased a dress down day ticket for your child(ren), look for a family envelope in your youngest child’s folder/backpack.
Congratulations to first grade for winning the Corks for a Cause voting war for a Cinco de Mayo and dance party! They won the party with 73 total votes! Our first graders will get to enjoy this party on Friday, May 6th with chips and queso, as well as a dance presentation and dance lesson courtesy of Griset Damas Roche, a professional Flamenco dancer!
Scholarships for the 2022-23 school year will open up this Thursday. Look for an email on Thursday with more information on all the scholarships available to our Saint Brigid of Kildare School students. The deadline for applications is Thursday, May 12.
Tomorrow evening at 7:00 pm our 8th graders will be receiving the sacrament of Confirmation. Please keep in your prayers all of our parish confirmandi and their families.
Spring Blessings,
Kathy O’Reilly
P.S. A quick reminder that the deadline for submitting applications for serving on the School Advisory Committee (SAC) are due this coming Friday. See story below for details.

Save the Date—Back to School Uniform and Spirit Wear Exchange
|
August 14, 2022 10 am - 1 pm
To everyone who donates, volunteers, and uses the uniform and spirit wear exchange—thank you so much! Your donations help other families and reduce waste! In the coming months, please gather gently used items your children no longer need and donate them to the school office before the end of the school year or hang onto them until the week of Aug 8-12, when the school office will be open to receive donations. Items accepted include all logo and non-logo uniform items AND spirit wear and PE uniforms. Non-logo articles that are not claimed at the back to school exchange will be donated to other local schools in need! And remember, you don’t need to donate to “shop” the exchange!

Gifts of Gratitude: Teacher & Staff Appreciation Gift
|
What is it?
Gifts of gratitude was established by the Home and School Association as a united effort to provide a generous monetary gift to every school and parish teacher and staff member at Christmas and the end of the year to thank them for all they do for our children.
Why participate?
This is a convenient way for families to make sure that each teacher, aide, and staff member who touches your child's life is recognized for all they do at St. Brigid.
Instead of several small gifts from each student, each teacher and staff member will receive a monetary gift that they choose how to use--whether they want to splurge on themselves or help with their own family's expenses.
What if I already participated at Christmas?
If your family donated to the Gifts of Gratitude program previously this school year, there is no need to donate again. We only ask for each family to donate once per school year.
Will my family be recognized for participating?
Yes -- the teachers and staff will receive a list of families who participate in this
program.
How much should I give?
The suggested annual gift amount is $25 per child once a year, however any given amount is graciously accepted and appreciated!
Can't remember if you already contributed?
What's the deadline?
Please contribute by May 13th for the year end gifts.
You can find the link for Gifts of Gratitude at the button below. Choose your donation amount and that's it. It's that easy! It's such a simple way to show appreciation to your child/children's teachers and the staff at St Brigid of Kildare.

World's Largest Diaper Drive - THIS WEEK!
|
Saint Brigid of Kildare School is again partnering with Bottoms Up Diaper Bank to participate in this year’s World’s Largest Diaper Drive.
Bottoms Up delivers free diapers and wipes to social service agencies so that moms and families living below the poverty line are able to have access to the diapers they need for their babies. In other words, when a single mother walks into a food pantry that partners with Bottoms Up, she is assured to get the size diapers necessary for her baby. Single moms are particularly susceptible to living below the poverty line. Please keep the underprivileged and marginalized in our society in your prayers as you participate in the World's Largest Diaper Drive.
Bottoms Up delivers an average of 60,000 diapers per month to over 50 community partners in Central and Southern Ohio. That’s an average of 2,000 fresh, dry diapers every day for babies whose mothers struggle to afford the $70-$80/month it costs to keep their babies clean, dry, and healthy.
Bottoms Up continues to grow with very little promotion and a lot of dedication to principled charity. Diapers are collected through drives at churches, schools, and businesses or purchased through the generosity of others.
At Saint Brigid, we will collect packages of diapers in various sizes the week of April 25. If you are able to help us with this world-record setting attempt and our individual school goal of 15,000 diapers, please send in these sizes of diapers to school on April 25-April 29. Thank you!
