The O'Reilly Minute
Dear Parents,
It is with great sorrow that we share the news of the passing of Pope Francis on Easter Monday.
Taking after his namesake, St. Francis of Assisi, Pope Francis was a compassionate shepherd of the Church, known for his humility, simplicity, and deep reverence for the beauty of God’s creation. His life and ministry inspired millions to walk more closely with Christ. May his legacy continue to encourage us all to grow in faith, to serve others with love, and to recognize the face of Christ in everyone we meet.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord,
And let perpetual light shine upon him.
In remembrance and prayer, we invite you to join our parish community for the following liturgies:
-
Holy Hour for the Holy Father – Wednesday, April 23, 5:00–7:00 PM (in the Church)
-
Vespers – Saturday, April 26, 4:30 PM (prior to the 5:00 PM Mass)
-
Rosary for the Holy Father – Sunday, April 27, 8:30 AM
-
Requiem Mass for the Holy Father – Wednesday, April 30, 7:00 PM (in the Church)
We also share that our 8th-grade students departed today for a school field trip and pilgrimage to Washington, D.C. They will be visiting many of our national museums and monuments. Fr. Lynch is accompanying the group and will offer spiritual guidance throughout the journey, including a private Mass for the students at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.
Please keep our students and their chaperones in your prayers, asking for a journey that is safe, educational, and spiritually enriching.
Spring blessings,
Kathy O'Reilly

Jubilee Prayer
Father in heaven,
may the grace of the Jubilee reawaken in us, Pligrims of Hope,
a yearning for the treasures of heaven.
May that same grace spread the joy and peace of our Redeemer throughout the earth.
To you our God, eternally blessed, be glory and praise for ever.
Amen.

Gifts of Gratitude: Year End Teacher & Staff Appreciation Gifts
What is it?
Gifts of gratitude is a program established by the Home and School Association as a united effort to provide a generous monetary gift to every teacher and staff member at Christmas and the end of the year to thank them for all they do for our children. Gifts of Gratitude is different from The Annual Fund.
Why participate?
This is a convenient way for families to make sure that each teacher, aide, and staff member who touches your child's life is recognized for all they do at St. Brigid. Instead of several small gifts from each student, each teacher and staff member will receive a monetary gift that they choose how to use.
What if I already participated at Christmas?
If your family donated to the Gifts of Gratitude program previously this school year, there is no need to donate again. We only ask for each family to donate once per school year.
Will my family be recognized for participating?
Yes -- the teachers and staff will receive a list of families who participate in this
program.
How much should I give?
The suggested annual gift amount is $25 per child, however any given amount is graciously accepted and appreciated!
Can't remember if you already contributed?
No worries -- just contact Ana Sotillo (sinramsotillo@gmail.com) or Renee Luis (reneeluis7@gmail.com) and they will let you know!
You can find the link for Gifts of Gratitude at the button below. Choose your donation amount and that's it. It's that easy! It's such a simple way to show appreciation to your child/children's teachers and the staff at St Brigid of Kildare.

Now Hiring: Parish Athletic Director
Our Athletic Association serves hundreds of families in our school and parish communities. Until now, this has been a volunteer-run organization filled with dedicated and passionate parents and committed adults. They have done an outstanding job of ministering to our children, and we are grateful for the countless hours of service.
With that being said, the time has come to hire a Parish Athletic Director who can dedicate 30-40 hours/week to leading and managing this vibrant part of our community. Father Black has discussed this with our current volunteer Athletic Director who has filled this position extremely well and he is in complete agreement that a full time staff member is a good move at this time. We are looking for candidates who might be interested.
Please click this link to view the full job description and application details.
All candidates must be at least 21 and must be PGC/BCI compliant via completing a Protecting God’s Children training and a BCI fingerprint background check. Information on that process is available here.

Purified Event with Jason Evert at St. Joan of Arc
April 27, 2025
This is a double feature event combining Purified and Gender & the Theology of Your Body into a retreat event.
Purified brings parents and teens (13+) together to discover God’s plan for love and opens up an opportunity for them to continue the discussion about this important topic at home, in a healthy and easy way with resources that work. The event includes a new version of Jason’s renowned talk Love or Lust, where he mixes humor with down-to-earth practicality that removes any awkwardness, making the difficult conversations about love much easier. Your family will leave with an understanding of the good news of chastity, a healthy sense of self-worth, and the ability, if needed, to start again.
Gender and the Theology of Your Body will follow after a short break. This talk asks, “What’s the meaning of sex, gender, and the human body?” The truth of masculinity and femininity are being questioned like never before. Discover how your body as a man or woman reveals your identity and calling. This talk is for teens and adults and provides the opportunity to discuss this difficult topic facing teens and families today.
This event includes Eucharistic Adoration, praise and worship, and an opportunity to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation. This format transforms a couple of talks into a retreat for the family, allowing them to encounter the source of purity, healing, and renewal, Jesus Christ.
This event is hosted by St. Peter St. Joan of Arc Parish, St. Brigid of Kildare, and St. Mary Delaware and will take place at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. The parish will be providing dinner before the first talk beginning at 4:30pm.
(Please note St. Brigid of Kildare students being Confirmed in 2025 may purchase tickets at a discounted rate and should register using a different link provided in an email from Andrea Komenda.)
