Our school theme for the 2022 - 2023 school year is:
“Together as One: Serving our God, Our School and Our Community”
|
|
Dear Parents,
I am excited to share with you our full Back To School edition of the Wolfhound Wednesday with information regarding back to school forms, sign ups, Meet The Teacher and how to access homeroom assignments.
Our school theme for the 2022 - 2023 school year is “Together as One: Serving our God, Our School and Our Community.” At this unique time in the history of our school, let us focus on the importance of Catholic community and all that comes with it. In the context of community, the transmission of our faith and culture takes place by sharing Catholic values, beliefs and practices which are critical in the formation of our students. The last two years have been challenging and isolating at times. We are more than ready to keep moving forward with joy and hope knowing that as Catholics and Christians there is a purpose and a value in what we do each day. Working together as parents and school staff, forming ONE community focused on serving God and each other, we place importance on intentionally developing our children’s hearts, minds and souls. Our school staff is looking forward to partnering with you this year to serve our God, our school and our community.

Message from the Tech Department
|
Many students are finishing up their summer work at this time. Unfortunately, we are experiencing some problems as many of our applications and websites have rolled over to the next school year. Some of these issues include Clever log ins, Renaissance for AR testing, and IXL.
Students will not be penalized for this, so please do not stress over uncompleted summer assignments.
This week we will also be deploying a new filtering system for grade 5-8 called Deledao. When your student logs into his/her school Google account, he/she may be taken to a Deledao website to log in. He/she should be able to log in with his/her same Google credentials. Or, another way around this is to simply sign out of his/her Google account and sign back in.
If you have further questions or concerns, please contact Kerinan Jordan at [email protected]
Thank you

We are excited to invite recess volunteers back this year and we need your help! The recess schedule has changed back to the regular schedule and we would like to see all of the slots filled in effort to give the teachers some time back in their day. There are two sign-up links as in years past:
- The Kindergarten Recess Volunteer sign-up link (one time slot per day, one volunteer needed)
- 1st-6th grade recess sign-ups (broken into two time slots per day, two volunteers per time slot)
These sign up links can be found below and also in the Quick Links at the top of the Wolfhound Wednesday each week.
All volunteers must be PGC (Protecting God’s Children) certified and have completed the St. Brigid Volunteer Application. We appreciate the support anyone is able to provide this year!

2022-2023 School Lunch Update
|
During the last school year, children and families benefitted from no-cost school meals for all students, made possible by special permission from the United States Department of Agriculture. Unfortunately, these permissions have expired. St. Brigid of Kildare school and the Ohio Department of Education cannot extend the permissions for no-cost meals for all students.
School meals will still be available to all students; however, they will not be free to all students. Households may apply for free or reduced-price meal benefits by 09/20/2022. Applications are available on the school website here, as was done before the pandemic. Eligibility for free and reduced-price lunch is based on federal income guidelines or participation in other programs such as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and Ohio Works First. For additional information concerning the National School Lunch Program, please see the U.S. Department of Agriculture school lunch question and answer webpage.
2022-23 Lunch Cost
The cost of lunch is $3.00 and that includes milk. Individual milk is available for purchase for $0.50. Water is available for free in the cafeteria. All cafeteria items are peanut-free. Please note that we will be offering a full salad bar option for students in grades 4 - 8 after Labor Day.
Breakfast Program
Breakfast items will be available for sale from 7:45 - 8:00 AM. Items will be sold for $0.75 each. The cost will be deducted from the student’s lunch account. All items will be peanut-free and will be convenient to eat.
For questions or additional information please contact Joyce Brown at 614-425-4822 or [email protected].

Back to School Mental Health Checklist

Back-to-school can be fun – new activities, kids back together again, and seeing how children have grown and changed. And it can be challenging – figuring out the buses, a new class or school, and finding school supplies…
How children feel can impact their learning. We have a mental health checklist your family can use to make sure you’re practicing some keys to mental wellness, so they can start the year off feeling confident!
Use the Back-to-School Mental Health Checklist to get back into school mode in a fun way.

A Night Out to Strengthen Your Marriage
Saturday, August 27, 2022, 6:15 to 7:30 p.m.
Hendrick’s Hall – St. Brigid of Kildare Parish
All married and engaged couples are invited to St. Brigid’s 23rd Make It a Date!
It will be a flashback Saturday as we reminisce about how we first met our spouses and our first impressions of each other.
Parishioners Mark and Patsy Callahan will be our guides on this journey down memory lane. The Callahans have been married for 22 years and have 2 children.
Like always, we’ll have light appetizers and there will be a chance to catch up with old and new friends.
At the conclusion of the event, couples leave on their own date at a venue of their choice to talk about the evening and how it relates to their own relationships.

Family Service Activity - Snack Bags for Ronald McDonald House
|
As we start back to school, Family First invites you to join us in providing comfort--in the form of snacks--to the families staying at the Ronald McDonald house. The Snack Pack program allows volunteers to prepare bags in their own home while providing snacks for families that are caring for sick children.
This is a great activity for the family, and while you assemble, discuss how acts of service and being Catholic go hand-in-hand. From the Golden Rule (Matthew 7:12), to the Works of Mercy, to the Beatitudes (Matthew 5:3-12) we know Jesus urges us to provide service to others.
Once bags are assembled please drop them in the bin in the collection closet in Hendricks Hall October 1st - October 9th. Any questions, please contact Anna Blouir at [email protected] or Sue Adorno at [email protected].
