Our 2021-2022 School Theme: Writing Our Next Story: Pencils in the Hand of God
The O'Reilly Minute
Dear Parents,

It was great seeing so many of you on Monday at our combination Meet The Teacher and birthday party!  It was wonderful to meet so many new people and reconnect with long-time families. A special thank you to our Home and School for organizing our frozen treats, popcorn, and festive music. It was truly a celebration for our school community!

Today we welcomed our A-K students. The building felt like it was going to burst with excitement and joy! We look forward to welcoming our L - Z students tomorrow morning with the same enthusiasm.

A few reminders and helpful hints about our new procedures:

  • Please check the story below regarding arrival and dismissal procedures and maps.

  • A few students did break their mask loops today. Please make sure that your child always has a back-up mask in his/her bookbag. If that mask gets used, please be sure to add another back-up mask to your child's bookbag.

  • Please don’t hesitate to reach out to Mrs. Allison Mensching, school nurse, if your child is not feeling well. Mrs. Mensching will help you with following the new guidelines for the COVID protocols regarding quarantines and isolation. She can be reached at [email protected]

  • Each student should bring his/her own water bottle to school each day. If the student is using a reusable water bottle, any stickers used to decorate the water bottle must be appropriate for our Catholic school.

Bishop Brennan has recorded a beautiful back to school message for our school community to begin the year. The link to view it is https://youtu.be/4qQVqL0xpqA.

Thank you for your well wishes, notes, cards, treats and most importantly your prayers! Our students wouldn’t be enjoying this great back to school week without the support of our community and the dedication and talents of our Task Force and all of our teachers and staff.

May the blessings of St. Brigid be with us during the 2021 -2022 school year!

Kathy O’Reilly

Wolfhound football is back in full swing at Brigid's Green. The teams have been putting in a lot of hard work all summer long and have been practicing for three weeks now.

Father Lynch brought Maeve (the new parish Wolfound!) down last Thursday night to bless the teams for the season. The 5/6 Sr. Reserve Team and the 7/8 Varsity Teams kick the season off with a scrimmage this Saturday, August 28th at Brigid's Green. The Sr. Reserve Team kicks off at 8:30 am followed by the varsity at 10:30 am. Stop down and support the players and help welcome football back this season!

Arrival & Dismissal Info & Traffic Tips
Traffic Pattern Tips - Arrivals
Welcome back! We look forward to seeing all the kids back in our halls. For arrivals this year please keep the following in mind:
  1. Please be patient and expect the unexpected while driving on and off our campus.
  2. Drop Off is pretty similar to last year with ONE NOTED exception: The beginning of our drop off line is up at the front of our building near the crosswalk that is closest to the south end of our building (old preschool entrance).
  3. Drop Off Zone is where you see the YELLOW arrows on the map. Please pull as far forward towards the front of the building before allowing your child to exit. Staff will be waving you forward…please follow their directions.
  4. Please have your child exit from the passenger side of the vehicle ONLY, so that they are stepping directly onto the sidewalk.  DO NOT allow your child to exit by the basketball poles as we did last year. Easy way to remember……NO SIDEWALK……NO EXIT.
  5. Staff will direct you around a parked school bus if needed.
  6. If you need extra time for your child (they are bringing a large project etc.) please consider parking in the front lot and walking your child up to the building sidewalk. We would like to keep the flow of traffic moving so that we can have all the kids in class and ready to go when school starts.
Afternoon Dismissal Procedures for Children - Bus Riders:

  • Busses will line up along the school driveway at the front of the building. Dismissal will begin at 2:45pm. K-4 students will exit via the south doors (old preschool doors). Students in grades 5-8 will exit via the north (office) doors. Bus riders will exit the building before any car riders are called to exit.

Afternoon Dismissal Procedures for Children - Car Riders:

  • Dismissal for car riders will take place on the Enke Hall side of the building. Due to an increase in car riders this year, this will be done in two shifts.
  • Car riders with their last name beginning with the letters A-K will be exit starting at 2:50. Car riders will exit through the recess doors and the Enke Hall doors.
  • Parents will park their cars in the Enke lot. Once the lot is full, all cars will be turned off and the lot will be closed off, allowing the children to safely walk to their cars from the sidewalk. Parents must stay by their cars but are encouraged to put an identifiable ribbon or streamer on their car antenna to assist their children in finding their car. Once all A-K car riders are safely in their cars, the lot will be opened and emptied, allowing the cars for L-Z families to enter and follow the same routine.
  • Car rider pick-up for letters A-K will run from 2:50-3:00. Car rider pick-up for letters L-Z will run from 3:05-3:15.

  • Kerinan Jordan and Nathan Graham (part-time band and part-time Innovation Team) working as educational technology coaches,
  • Bridget DeSocio working as an innovation and discovery specialist helping students not only find good fit books, but encouraging discovery of new ideas and resources,
