Dear Parents,

Our first week of school was a great success!  The students had a great time meeting their new teachers, greeting old friends and getting back into the routine. We ended the week with Mass and enjoyed a popsicle treat sponsored by our Annual Fund.

I would like to take a minute to address some of the recent concern about the current humidity and heat wave and our air conditioning.  Our air conditioning is working, with the exception of two classrooms (who have made alternative plans to use other rooms as they can). The technician has been out several times and he has explained to me that the units just can't keep up with the excessive humidity and heat.  The classrooms yesterday afternoon were between 75 - 77 degrees. While this is not cool, and it is not how our classrooms typically feel, it is certainly within reason for a day with temperatures feeling like 98 degrees outside. Please be assured that we will continue to monitor the situation and will make alternative plans if the conditions warrant.  Remind your children to stay hydrated and send them with water bottles which they may use throughout the day. Also remind them that our water fountains all have a water bottle filler feature they may use to refill. Thank you for your understanding during these hot days.

I look forward to seeing everyone at curriculum night - please check the calendar for the schedule for your children's grade levels. (Our school calendar is always available on our website here:  http://www.stbrigidofkildare.com/school-calendar/)

Blessings,
Kathy O'Reilly

Support the Annual Fund
New this year - donate online

Instead of having our children and parents participate in fundraising projects that raise more for the companies sponsoring the sale than for our school, an Annual Fund donation by each family supports the efforts of Home & School at Saint Brigid of Kildare. Each dollar raised goes directly to school projects and improvement. Because of this, we will never ask you or your children to sell items door to door to raise money for our school.

The Annual Fund supports the efforts of our Home & School, including welcome and tours, artists and authors in the school, class parties, class field trips, teacher appreciation, playground supplies, student organizations (ALSO programs), school musicals, new  family welcome, classroom wish lists and the teacher education fund, among others.

The general suggested request is $100 per student in order to meet the needs of the school programs the fund supports. However, any amount is appreciated.

New this year: Donate to the Annual Fund online
Your early contribution to the fund is appreciated as some school programs begin at the start of the school year. Click below to make your annual donation online.
