We have had a great first week back to school! | |
Dear Parents,
The first week of school has truly been a joy! The students and teachers have already experienced many learning opportunities and special times for prayer. Our opening school Mass was last Friday with both Monsignor Hendricks and Father Lynch concelebrating. We were proud to have leadership from our 8th grade participating as altar servers, readers and gift bearers. We also had many parents, younger siblings and members of the parish community joining us making our opening school liturgy a truly exciting and meaningful way to end the week.
We will continue to attend Mass weekly on Thursday at 9:00 am as a whole school unless there is a holy day or special holiday Mass which will be noted on our website calendar. (Kindergarteners will attend Mass according to a specialized schedule. Kindergarten teachers will inform you). Parents wishing to attend Mass with their child(ren) may sit with them in East or West alcoves or you may sit with the class.
Please click here to see the seating chart for Mass. Parents please make contact with the teacher to make sure they know that you are taking your child to sit with you and also make contact with the teacher upon returning your child to the class.
Looking ahead to next week parents please plan to attend Curriculum Night to learn more about what will be happening in the classroom during the coming year. The schedule is as follows:
September 7th
Curriculum Night
7-8, 6:00-6:45 pm
3-4, 7:00-7:45 pm
September 8th
Curriculum Night
K-2, 6:00-6:45 pm
5-6, 7:00-7:45 pm
I look forward to seeing you next week as we work Together as ONE serving God, our school and our community.
Kathy O’Reilly

Last school year, three Saint Brigid of Kildare School students worked hard on a service project to create a new Little Library at our parish. As part of the school's Service Club, Emma Drab (currently grade 8), Sam Sage (currently grade 9), and Maren Reville (currently grade 9), designed and created the Little Library which is now positioned on the east side of the church near the sidewalk. To get the project approved, the students met with Monsignor Hendricks, Principal Kathy O'Reilly, and had many communications with the City of Dublin. The students wrote proposals and had phone calls with the city to discuss the purpose and need for the project -- to provide a place for people to drop off donated books and to pick up a free book.
After months of work, the Little Library went up this month, and within just a few days was full of donated books. The Little Library is open to anyone who passes by at any time -- feel free to take a book or drop off a gently used one for others to enjoy.

We are excited to invite recess volunteers back this year and we need your help! The recess schedule has changed back to the regular schedule and we would like to see all of the slots filled in effort to give the teachers some time back in their day. There are two sign-up links as in years past:
- The Kindergarten Recess Volunteer sign-up link (one time slot per day, one volunteer needed)
- 1st-6th grade recess sign-ups (broken into two time slots per day, two volunteers per time slot)
These sign up links can be found below and also in the Quick Links at the top of the Wolfhound Wednesday each week.
All volunteers must be PGC (Protecting God’s Children) certified and have completed the St. Brigid Volunteer Application. We appreciate the support anyone is able to provide this year!

Save the Date for Women's Retreat |
We are grateful for the opportunity to reconnect for the 2023 St. Brigid of Kildare Women’s Retreat at The Spiritual Center of Maria Stein!
For most of us, the pace of daily life is pretty hectic. Because we’re always on the go, there isn’t much time to think about the things that are truly important in life. At The Spiritual Center of Maria Stein, the peace and solitude provide a chance for you to get away – to take time to reflect, refresh, and renew. We are also grateful for the opportunity to reconnect after not having a parish retreat for three years.
Save the date: 5 PM on Friday, March 3, 2023 – 12 NOON on Sunday, March 5, 2023
