Welcome back to school Wolfhounds! | |
The O'Reilly Minute
Dear Parents,
It was wonderful to see so many of you at our Meet the Teacher and Welcome Back Party on Tuesday! We thoroughly enjoyed meeting new families and reconnecting with our long-time ones. A special thank you to our Home and School Association for organizing the snow cones, spiritwear and festive music—it truly made for a joyful celebration of our school community!
Today we welcomed our L-Z students, and the building was buzzing with excitement and joy! We’re eagerly anticipating the arrival of our A-K students tomorrow morning with the same enthusiasm.
Our opening school Mass will be held on Friday, August 23rd at 9:00 a.m., and we warmly invite everyone to attend. Parents have the option to sit with their child’s class or to join them in another area of the church. Following Mass, our Home and School Association will be hosting a “Tears and Cheers” coffee social in Hendricks Hall at 10:00 a.m., where coffee and pastries will be available.
As we embark on this school year, let us come together to sow Seeds of Hope in our community. May the blessings of St. Brigid guide us throughout the 2024-2025 school year.
Blessings,
Kathy O’Reilly

Car Rider Arrival Instructions
For our returning families, we are doing the exact same traffic plan (pattern) as we finished the school year 2023-24, without utilizing the “S” pattern in the Enke/ Recess Lot.
- Main School Drop-Off. Doors Open at 7:45 AM to admit students
- Please be patient, courteous, and follow staff instructions. Especially the first few weeks until all feel comfortable with the routine.
- Drop-Off Zone is the RED ARROWS on the map. Please Pull as far forward as possible to the front of the building where the Drop-Off Starts (second crosswalk, past the flagpole near the preschool doors labeled on map above as “Drop-Off Zone 1st Car) before dropping off your student(s).
- Students are to exit PASSENGER SIDE ONLY of the vehicle onto the sidewalk
- Students can enter the building only at two locations: GYM ENTRANCE or MAIN ENTRANCE. Remember, please pull as far forward to the front of the building (MAIN ENTRANCE) as possible before students exit your vehicle.
- School Buses are utilizing the loop in front of the church for lane of travel and will be parking (3 at a time) in front of the preschool (just past the crosswalk). Cars will pass the busses on the left slowly to exit the campus.
- If your student needs extra time (large school project, crutches etc.) please park in the front lot and walk them up to the sidewalk in front of the school.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We expect this plan to run as smoothly as it did last year, due to all your help.
Feel free to reach out to me for anything, and welcome back!

NEW Car Rider Dismissal Instructions
Due to the increased need for parking for PARISH events, we are doing a NEW Car Rider Dismissal Procedure.
- Bus Riders are dismissed at 2:50 PM
- Car Riders are dismissed at 2:55 PM.
- Please DO NOT arrive earlier than 2:30 PM for car rider dismissal.
- NEW PROCEDURE: Find ANY parking spot available on campus and park your car legally. DO NOT park in the MAIN LOOP (shown in map with red line).
- Walk to Door #20 (Enke Hall) or Door #16 (Gym) to pick up your student(s). Parents will NOT enter the building. Parents will meet their student(s) outside the doors. Parents are to walk their child(ren) to the car. You are then free to leave at your discretion.
- Please leave the campus no later than 3:05 PM, so we can proceed with preschool dismissal pattern.
- FOR EARLY PICK-UPS / SICK STUDENTS: Please Park in the lot in front of the school and walk up to the Main Entrance. DO NOT Park in the main loop in front of the school as it is a Fire Lane, and we utilize the loop for preschool arrivals and dismissals.
- Please be patient, courteous, and mindful of pedestrian traffic at all times, especially during the first few weeks until all feel comfortable with the routine. Parents are responsible for the monitoring and safety of their child(ren) while walking to their vehicle.
Feel free to reach out to me for anything, and welcome back!

Digital Media Guidelines & Reminders
A start of a new school year is so exciting, so we want to give a few reminders regarding sharing photos or videos of youth in order to keep our children safe.
Please reference St. Brigid of Kildare's recently updated Digital Media Guidelines here (these can also be found on our Safe Environment webpage).
A few reminders from us:
Keeping children and their privacy safe, both online and off, is always at the forefront of any considerations where social media usage is concerned. Saint Brigid of Kildare will never publicly post or release information that is considered private and confidential. This includes posting photos with names of children without additional parental consent. Photos of children will not be posted on Saint Brigid of Kildare digital media if a parent specifically opts their child(ren) out of such use in FACTS WebForms.
A few reminders for volunteers:
Adults (including volunteers) should have permission from a minor’s parent or guardian before sharing or posting online any pictures, videos, or other information that may identify that minor. If you would like to share photos or videos of a St. Brigid school or parish activity online on behalf of Saint Brigid of Kildare, send the photos or video to the communications director (Allie Wing, mrs.wing@stbrigid-school.org) for review and posting on the official accounts. We always welcome photos to share, but know that we must double check that all parents have given permission to share before posting.

St. Charles Hosting An Evening With...His Eminence, Cardinal Timothy Dolan
In 1923, St. Charles Preparatory School was founded on the promise that an exceptional education be provided to every young man who was willing to accept the challenge of studying there, regardless of his background or means. As St. Charles continues to meet that founding promise, we invite you to join us on October 10th for our annual event, An Evening With…His Eminence, Cardinal Timothy Dolan. Join us for a conversation with Cardinal Dolan as he shares the importance of Jesus and the Church in our day-to-day lives. Visit www.stcharlesprep.org/giving/an-evening-with to reserve your table as together we work to ensure that all young men receive the gift of a Catholic education. For more information, please contact St. Charles Advancement Director Jaime Lawler at jlawler@scprep.org or at (380) 209-2231.
